COVID-19 Mask Procedure Update - Sept. 2, 2020
Hello everyone, it’s Dr. Vikram Gupta here to share some important information from the CDC regarding proper wearing procedures for masks. It is currently a state mandate that masks be worn inside all public buildings, as well as outdoors when it is impossible to social distance safely. These tips and infographics will help you make sure that you are keeping yourself and others safe as restrictions are gradually lifted on indoor and outdoor activity and as some schools return to in-person instruction.
DO:
Wear masks with two or more layers
Wear masks securely over your nose and mouth to stop the spread of droplets containing viral particles
Wash your hands before putting on your mask and after removing your mask
Wash your mask regularly with the warmest possible water and the highest possible drying setting for your mask materials
DO NOT:
Wear masks that are made from non-breathable materials such as vinyl
Wear masks with valves or vents that allow viral particles to escape
Wear masks intended for healthcare professionals (such as N95 respirators)
Touch your mask while wearing it
Expose your mouth or nose while wearing a mask
Lower your mask to speak to others
